Whitehouse has a diverse student community with students coming from many different parts of the world to study design in one of the world’s most beautiful countries.
Sydney in NSW is home to over four and a half million people, making it Australia’s largest city with the Opera House and Sydney Harbour Bridge as famous icons. Melbourne in Victoria is Australia’s second largest city, with over three and a half million inhabitants, and is one of Australia’s most multi-cultural cities. Victoria is considered to be the Garden State of Australia.
Each Whitehouse campus is located in the heart of the city, central to the design and business districts. Sydney and Melbourne are famous for their wildlife reserves, national parks, gardens and glorious beaches, theatres, museums, art galleries, cinemas, restaurants and nightclubs. Australia is renowned for being safe, tolerant and multicultural.
Visit http://studyinaustralia.gov.au/ – the official Australian government web site for international students studying in Australia.
Whilst accommodation is not available on campus, Whitehouse Institutes student services staff are able to assist interstate and international students with finding suitable accommodation options within close proximity to the campus. There are a variety of arrangements to suit all budgets including hostels, homestays, rental and shared accommodation.
The cost of living in any city depends on your choice of lifestyle. Students living in Australia can usually manage on approximately AUD$350 per week. This may cover rent, food and public transport but may not incorporate social activities or the cost of running a car. For many overseas visitors and students the exchange rate of the Australian Dollar and the affordable cost of living makes travel and study an attractive proposition.
